Outreach Global Hosts University of Cape Coast, Ghana Delegation


Outreach Global hosted a four-member delegation from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana, for an informational visit to Auburn University, December 4th to 9th, 2016. The delegation visit was organized as part of University Outreach’s Global Africa Initiatives.

Auburn University and UCC partners are working on several collaborative programs including outreach and community services, youth development, training for faculty, staff and students, faculty and student exchanges, spring and summer programs, teaching, research, and technology related programs.

The UCC delegation which was led by the UCC Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. George Oduro, also included Prof. Rosemond Boohene, Dean of the Center for International Education; Dr. Rosemary Bosu, Director for the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration and Dr. Hippolyt Angbing, the Head of Department of Basic Education.

During the visit, the group met with Dr. Royrickers Cook, Vice President for University Outreach and Associate Provost, who invited the group to the Auburn campus. The UCC delegation also met with Auburn Provost Tim Boosinger, Mrs. Elizabeth I. E-Quansah, Coordinator for Outreach Global, Mrs. Sheri Downer, Head of Department of Educational Foundation Leadership and Technology (EFLT) and university administrators, faculty members and students representing a number of campus departments interested in prospective projects with UCC.

Vice President for University Outreach Royrickers Cook and an Auburn University delegation are scheduled to visit UCC in Ghana this spring to finalize a memorandum of understanding between the universities to develop a variety of cooperative programs and services.
