Mission of OFE

The Office of Faculty Engagement provides campus-wide support, advocacy, and leadership in the promotion of outreach at Auburn University. Outreach is an important expression and application of faculty disciplinary expertise, transformative collaboration, and scholarship. By engaging in outreach, faculty improve life quality in Alabama and beyond. Additionally, they also gain valuable experience and insights that can inform instruction, research and service.

Auburn Engagement with Cuba: A Roundtable Discussion. University Outreach hosted a roundtable discussion on Auburn University’s Engagement with Cuba on Friday, May 5th, from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. The roundtable, that included a continental breakfast and lunch, highlighted faculty interactions, past and upcoming activities and a discussion of future opportunities with the country. Those that have participated in a previous AU Delegation or lecture, are considering attending a future University Outreach Delegation, or those simply with an interest in Cuba, were invited to attend. Auburn faculty are significantly active in building community and institutional partnerships according to a survey on public engagement taken in the last academic year. The summary report was prepared by University Outreach’s Office of Faculty Engagement and was commissioned in response to the university strategic plan objectives promoting faculty participation in outreach work.
