Rusty Smith

Rusty Smith

Rusty Smith, who is currently Auburn University's Gresham Professor, Associate Chair of the Architecture Program, Associate Director of the Rural Studio, and the Coordinator of the First Year Program in Architecture, has also taught and lectured as a Distinguished Visiting Artist at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Smith is a nationally recognized teacher and scholar. His honors include the 2005 American Institute of Architects National Teaching Honor Award and the 2003 American Institute of Architecture Students National Teaching Honor Award. Smith is a regularly invited lecturer speaking about design education at both educational institutions as well as to design professionals. He earned a Master of Fine Arts at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor of Interior Design from Auburn University.
