Program Description

The Alabama Shakespeare Festival (fifth-largest Shakespearean venue in the world), invites you to learn from professors and staff, as you “dissect” and analyze the plays of two famous productions, cap-stoned with live performances. Before curtain-up, a behind the scenes backstage tour, the “Theater in the Mind”, and “Bard Talk” lectures, enrich your experience. Immerse yourself in characters and plots as Professor leads you to a better understanding of plays, and various acting techniques. Love, adventure, rivalry, treachery, lavish costumes and brilliant sets characterize these memorable classics. Explore the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts with a docent and speak to the Shakespearean Gardener at the incredible Blount Cultural Park.

Note:  Performances: On May 8th the ageless tale of star crossed lovers “Romeo and Juliet”, and “The Count of Monte Cristo”, a swashbuckling adventure, and an Alabama Shakespeare Festival classic. One meal is on your own and not included in the program price so you may explore local restaurants. Some walking required.
