| Purpose: |
The Summer Institute has been designed to introduce preservice principals to essential learnings about the skills and dispositions needed to be an effective principal through interactions with practicing school leaders who are refreshing their own professional learning. |

| Goals: |
1. Build the capacity of individuals and organizations by addressing relevant content through meaningful learning opportunities and processes to reflect upon and apply newly acquired knowledge. |

2. Create networks for informal mentoring, idea and resource sharing, and on-going collaboration focused on the improvement of learning opportunities for all students. |

3. Create supportive communities which encourage diverse groups to work together to resolve educational problems facing our schools, state, and beyond. |

4. Extend participation in the summer institute to school leaders throughout the state of Alabama and elsewhere. |
