Strategies for Workforce Development is a two-day course presented by the Economic & Community Development Institute (ECDI) at Auburn University.

On December 10-11, 2009, ECDI will assemble leading community, economic,and workforce development practitioners and professionals to share ideas and best practices based upon proven success in building and equipping workforces to support the needs of local and regional economies.

Course participants will be encouraged to ask questions and engage in constructive dialogue about challenges, strategies, and opportunities for developing and training Alabama’s current and future workforce.

ECDI will provide each participant with a CD containing faculty presentations and other reference materials. Participants can access the presentations on a personal laptop or view them on the screen in front of the conference room.

Refund Policy: ECDI will not issue direct cash refunds for this course. Instead, the registration fee may be applied towards an Alabama Prosperity Forum course in 2010

With 25 years of experience in economic development education and training and over 1,000 alumni across Alabama, ECDI is the state’s leading provider of education in economic and community development.

Building upon the success of its annual two-week Intensive Economic Development Training Course, ECDI introduced the Alabama Prosperity Forum (APF), a series of short courses focused on areas in which Alabama economic and community development professionals have expressed a desire for more training. This is the final of three APF courses offered in 2009.



The course will be held at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. Hotel reservations are not included in the course registration fee.

ECDI has reserved rooms at the Hotel for Wednesday, December 9th and Thursday, December 10th. A special rate of $96/night plus tax is available to participants until the block is full. Please indicate that you are attending the ECDI workforce course in order to receive this rate.
