About this Course . . .

Education and Workforce Development: Making the Connection is a new course offered by the Economic & Community Development Institute. On November 14 and 15, 2007, ECDI will bring a team of practitioner-experts to Auburn to present ideas and proven success strategies for bridging the gap between education and workforce development.

Throughout the course, participants will be encouraged to ask questions and engage in constructive dialogue about challenges and opportunities for developing Alabama’s current and future workforce.

Format and Overview
ECDI will provide each participant with a CD containing faculty presentations and reference materials. Participants can access these materials on their personal laptop or view them on the screen in front of the classroom.

Registration and Fee

We have provided a variety of registration options for your convenience. Please register by any of the following:

The registration fee is $225. This includes:

  • The course and course CD
  • Luncheon on Wednesday
  • Refreshments during the course
  • Wireless Internet access
  • Continuing education credit (CEU)

The registration fee can be refunded until Monday, November 5th. Refunds will not be issued after this date.
 

Location and Accommodations

The course will be held in the Seminar Room of the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center, located at 241 South College Street. Hotel reservations are the responsibility of the individual participant and are not included in the registration fee.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the hotel at a group rate of $89.00 per night plus tax. This rate is available until November 1st. Participants must indicate that they are attending the ECDI education and workforce development course when making their reservation in order to receive this special rate.
