Certificate Program for Election and Voter Registration Officials (CERA/CERV)
Auburn University has been a national leader in promoting professionalism in this important field of public service. In 1994, faculty in the Master of Public Administration program, which is housed in the College of Liberal Arts, formed a partnership with The Election Center, a nonprofit, international organization of local and state election officials, to create a professional education program in voter registration and election administration. The mandatory 12-course curriculum includes courses such as Management Concepts in Election and Voter Registration Administration, Facilitating Voter Participation, History of Election and Voter Registration, Election Law, Implementing New Programs, and Information Management and Technology.
