Since becoming Director in May 201. Alfred J. Davis, Sr. has focused on positioning the East Alabama Workforce Investment Network, Region 8 as an innovative leader in work force development initiatives. From partnering with educational, business, and industry partners for effective use of workforce resources to bringing employers, jobseekers, youth, educators, community organizations, state agencies, and other non-profits together to find–and fund – solutions to workforce gaps. While his focus is region 8, Alfred believes in sharing the EAWIN knowledge with other workforce development organizations. EAWIN, is one of Alabama’s ten workforce development councils, representing Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, and Russell counties in east Alabama.
Prior to being named Director, Alfred was City Manager of Tuskegee, Alabama. He has served as Director of the Solid Waste Management Department for the City of Durham, North Carolina, Director of Environmental Services, and Community Development Officer in the Economic and Community Development Department for the City of Auburn, Alabama, and Program Analyst for the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Alfred holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Auburn University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University at Montgomery.
