LED Certification Courses

A partnership between Auburn University’s Center for Governmental Services and the Technology Certification Institute has resulted in the establishment of a certification program designed to meet the specific needs of LED industry professionals engaged in the sales, marketing and distribution of LED lighting across the globe.

The purpose of this LED Professional Certification Program is to establish a standard of professional credentialing for those who are engaged in the management, sales and distribution of LED lighting products. Recognizing that the requirements of business professionals are distinct from those of LED engineers, technicians and architects, this Program will address core knowledge and competency needs for those who interact with clients and customers within the expanding fields of LED lighting. LED Certified Professionals will be recognized as having attained a high-level of expertise, knowledge and professionalism that is unique to the specialized industry of LED lighting.

Certification and designation of “Certified LED Professional” can be maintained through successful completion of 20 contact hours of industry-specific continuing education (CE) every two (2) years following the first two years after initial certification. Requests for acceptance of continuing education contact hours for the purpose of re-certification should be made through the Center for Governmental Services. Additional on-line CE courses will also be available through this certifying organization. Please see the Program website for additional information.

The cost of each course is $250, payable in advance. The cost includes course materials transmitted electronically.  Additional hard-copy texts are not included in the registration fee and will need to be ordered individually by participants. Refunds for course registration fees will be made when written requests for course cancellations are received in advance of logging in and beginning the course, and less a processing fee of $15. Below, is more information about each course that will be offered on May 29, 2014 at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center in Atlanta.
