Through cooperation with professional associations, CGS professionals offer five certification programs. Each program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of public sector officials and employees.
The Property Tax Administration Program requires that Property Tax Officials successfully complete a core curriculum of tested course work and pass a comprehensive exam to earn certification.
The Public Personnel Administration Program requires that Public Personnel Administrators successfully complete a core curriculum of tested course work and pass a comprehensive exam to earn certification.
The County Commissioners Certification Program is conducted through a partnership between CGS and the Alabama Local Government Training Institute.
The Certified Revenue Examiner (Sales Tax Collection) Program requires participants to successfully complete a core curriculum of tested course work.
The Association of Alabama Tax Administrators with support from the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University provides a certification program to increase the knowledge and professionalism of those involved in licensing administration.
The Institute's optional noncredit certificate program is designed for professionals who wish to enter the Intelligence and Security field or who wish to become more competitive within it. The program provides a solid background in the fundamentals of Intelligence and Security.
