About the Conference

The Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University, in partnership with The IC² Institute at the University of Texas at Austin, and The Public Manager, is proud to provide the 2009 Governmental Excellence and Best Practices conference. The conference will address issues associated with governmental transparency and increasing public trust in governments.

 

The Governmental Excellence and Best Practices conferences successfully brings together professionals from all levels of government, academics, and professionals representing the private sector to discuss and collaborate on best governmental practices. An environment is created where individuals have the opportunity to dialogue and work together on practical issues facing governmental entities, as well as with organizations engaged in business with governments.

 

 

2007 Symposium

National Symposium, 2007 in Washington, D.C.

The 2009 conference will bring together state, municipal, and county officials, fiscal and economic officers, academics, private sector administrators, and experts to discuss and collaborate on the best governmental practices. This year’s symposium will deal with issues and the questions surrounding governmental transparency and the impact transparency has on public trust. Discussions will center on the development of criteria and standards designed to evaluate governmental transparency in municipal, county, and state levels in the areas of finance, human resources, strategic planning, and technology.
