A native of Anniston, Alabama, Ken began his career in 1971 with the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations’ National Emergency Employment Act program to assist recently separated Vietnam-Era Veterans find careers. His desire to assist veterans started then and continues to the present day where he is ADECA’S State Workforce Initiatives Coordinator. Along his career pathway, in 1980 he earned an Educational Doctorate Degree in Administration and Planning from The University of Alabama. He is active in local, regional, state wide and federal workforce investment efforts, especially providing veterans’ entrepreneurial training. Ken serves on several Alabama advisory councils, i.e. Character Council of Alabama, Alabama Career Technical Education Advisory Council, Governor’s Community Partnership for Prisoner Reentry, Alabama Literacy Alliance, and the MENTOR ALABAMA Advisory Council.
