Michael serves as Associate Legislative Director for Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs where he is responsible for all policy development and lobbying for the association in the areas of municipal finance and tax, elections, pensions and county and tribal government relationships. Michael also serves as Associate General Counsel for NACo. Michael first joined NACo in 2008 as an intern in the Legislative Affairs Department where he assisted staff on health policy. A few months after the passage of the 2009 Recovery Act, Michael made the transition from policy to implementation when he moved over to the County Services Department as a Special Projects Coordinator where he primarily served as an information clearinghouse for member counties on Recovery Act implementation. At the beginning of 2010, Michael then spent six months as a Research Associate in NACo's Research Department before becoming the Associate Legislative Director for Finance and Intergovernmental Affairs. Michael received his Bachelors in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University and his J.D. and MBA from Western New England University.
