Welcome to the Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administrators, Alabama Chapter IPMA-HR.

It is a distinct privilege to serve as President of the Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administrators (AAPPA). This association has been very important in my professional development, networking and success, so I am honored to support its work and traditions which emphasize professional, ethical and accountable public personnel administration in Alabama.

In partnership with the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University, the Alabama Association of County Commissions, and the Alabama League of Municipalities, our focus continues to be on professional development and public employment issues. Through the AAPPA, we will continue to increase job knowledge, develop skills, promote and maintain a high level of integrity regarding standards, enhance professionalism, and serve as a medium to discuss and address public sector human resources issues. I believe that public service is an honorable and important calling and that this association does an excellent job equipping its members to succeed in their service to their organizations and communities.

A challenging year is ahead as we:

• Continue to enhance the educational program;
• Increase recruitment efforts for new members;
• Encourage members to become more involved;
• Review our policies;
• Plan and hold an exceptional annual conference; and
• Explore ways to make our association the very best that it can be!

To our members, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to serve the AAPPA and for your support during my term of office. To other visitors, I hope that you will consider joining the AAPPA and that you will support the important work it does in Alabama.
