Participants will learn ways to plan and prepare for emergencies, roles of local governments in recovery, what needs are unmet and challenges are faced, and how to manage resources. Informative electives are also offered. |

| Credit: Participants will be awarded CEUs and certificates for successfully completed courses and will receive program certification after successful completion of the series. Students interested in academic credit should contact their department. |

| Registration is open for the following course: |
- Roles of Local Government in Recovery Processes: Local Government Emergency Management Operations
- The use of the incident command system as a planning template and response tool.
- The key components in State Operations Plans relating to local government coordination, mutual aid and incident support.
- The effective coordination of private sector resources for local and regional support.
- The identification and protection of local critical infrastructures.
- Investigation of current emergency situations, such as: shootings in municipal buildings, shopping malls, and colleges campuses; fires; bridge
collapses; and natural disasters such as tornados, hurricanes, and flooding.
- An active case study and exercise related to a public disaster.
- Begins March 31
