Rising 9th and 12th Graders

The Center for Educational Outreach and Engagement (CEOE), partnered with the Ward 2 Academy to provide students (grades 9th -12th) the opportunity to participate in Auburn Days once a week in the month of July. While on campus the students attended workshops that enhanced their knowledge and hands-on experience with different career fields, such as Engineering, Urban Forestry and Nursing. f

Ward 2 Academy, was created by councilwoman, Tiffany Pitts, of Ward 2 in Opelika, Alabama. The Academy, comprising an after school program and summer camp provides a safe space for 60 children from the Opelika area. The program curriculum offers students’ academic support, career guidance and field trips to institutions of higher education and various businesses and organizations. It also enables them to interact with and shadow government officials and other dignitaries within the surrounding communities.
