GEAR UP Birmingham City Schools
Tiger Cage Entrepreneurship Camp: July 23-29, 2017
Tiger Cage students who have a business concept or idea for a product will work directly with professors, business leaders and entrepreneurs to further develop their ideas into reality.
Tiger Cage will include classroom instruction, interactive activities, computer lab, and field trips to local businesses and will be a hands-on learning experience designed to guide program participants towards becoming the owner of a real small business.
Participants will practice real world business skills: team building, leadership development, financial management, verbal communication, and business etiquette through interactive lessons and exercises. Participants will learn how to successfully negotiate for business materials, set goals, and recognize real business opportunities. Tiger Cage students will also learn about the various college majors and business careers that support entrepreneurship (accounting, finance, marketing etc.) from Harbert College of Business Professors.
This camp serves rising 10th and 11th grade students.
Campers will have various meal options for breakfast and lunch in The Student Center. Unlike breakfast and lunch and lunch, dinner is held in The Village Dining facility, where they have unlimited options of a buffet-style meal.
Registration opening Spring 2018.
