GEAR UP Birmingham City Schools: Tiger Cage Entrepreneurship Camp
July 23-28, 2017 CAMP FULL

Tiger Cage Entrepreneurship Camp is an opportunity to advance the entrepreneurial desires of Gear Up students from Birmingham City Schools. Tiger Cage students with a business concept or idea for a product will work directly with professors, business leaders and entrepreneurs to further develop their ideas into reality.

Tiger Cage will include classroom instruction, interactive activities, computer lab, and field trips to local businesses and will be a hands-on learning experience designed to guide program participants towards becoming the owner of a real small business.

Participants will practice real world business skills: team building, leadership development, financial management, verbal communication, and business etiquette through interactive lessons and exercises. Participants will learn how to successfully negotiate for business materials, set goals, and recognize real business opportunities. Tiger Cage students will also learn about the various college majors and business careers that support entrepreneurship (accounting, finance, marketing etc.) from Harbert College of Business Professors.

All of this in addition to the traditional social activities associated with summer camp (swimming, pizza parties, games and other hands-on activities) makes for a fun and productive experience. This camp serves rising 9th and 10th grade students.

Campers will reside in the Hill Dormitories or the Quad dorms. They are designed in suites consisting of two double-occupancy rooms connected by a bathroom.

Campers will have various meal options for breakfast and lunch in The Student Center. Unlike breakfast and lunch and lunch, dinner is held in The Village Dining facility, where they have unlimited options of a buffet-style meal.

The Tiger Cage camp is full for Summer 2017.
