In cooperation with the Alabama League of Municipalities, and the Association of County Commissions of Alabama, the Center for Governmental Services at Auburn University offers the Alabama Association of Public Personnel Administrators Education and Certification program. This program assists Alabama's public personnel administrators to conduct their functions in a professional, effective, and efficient manner. Those eligible to achieve certification are public personnel administrators, professionals, and administrative support staff who are responsible for various phases of personnel administration and employed in an Alabama governmental organization. Through successful completion of specified coursework and a comprehensive examination, individuals achieve the designation of Alabama Certified Human Resource Professional or Alabama Certified Human Resource Specialist.
