Instructions

Accessing VMware Horizon with a web browser

If you are off-campus, you must first log into the VPN Client.

Simply, open your web browser of choice and visit https://wde.auburn.edu. Next, select the browser option and login.

Downloading & Installing

  1. Download the VMware Horizon Client from AU Install.
  2. Double-click the downloaded file and press the "Next" button on the first screen.

  3. Read the End User License Agreement.  If you agree to the terms, select the radio button "I accept..." and press the "Next" button.

  4. Select the default installation and press the "Next" button.




  5. For the default view connection server, enter "wde.auburn.edu" and press the "Next" button.


  6. On the next two screens select the options you want and press "Next."




  7. Lastly you'll press the "Install" button and when it completes, press the "Finish" button.



  8. You may need to restart your machine after installation.

Running VMware Horizon Client

  1. Go to your start menu to find the application or double-click the icon on your desktop.

    Note: If you are off-campus you must first connect through the VPN connection.

  2. The first time you run this software you'll need to add the wde server. Double-click "Add Server," enter "wde.auburn.edu," and press the "Connect" button.

  3. Enter your Auburn username and password and then press the "Login" button.

  4. Select the lab environment you wish to run and press the "Connect" button.

  5. Below is an example to the wde environment.

Troubleshooting

My browser gets a blank/error page at wde.auburn.edu

Are you off-campus? If so, you must first connect through the VPN connection.

I get the error "The View Connection Server connection failed"

Make sure the the connection server is wde.auburn.edu.

Note: If you are off-campus you must first connect through the VPN connection.
