PROGRAMMING YOUR PHONE

  • With the handset in the cradle, press the AutoDial button you want to program. (The indicator light will flash.)
  • Dial the telephone number exactly as you would normally dial it (4-XXXX or 9-XXX-XXXX).
  • Press the AutoDial button you are programming again. (The indicator light will go off.)

 

AutoDial
  • Program the designated AUTODIAL buttons following the instructions above.
  • Lift the handset and press the programmed AUTODIAL button.
Call Forward

All calls made to your number that rings on your set can be automatically forwarded to any number.

   *71 to activate
   #71 to cancel

  • With the handset in the cradle, press Call Fwd. (The indicator light will flash.)
  • Dial the telephone number exactly as you would normally dial it.
  • Press Call Fwd again.
  • To cancel, press Call Fwd or dial #71.
Caller ID (With Number)

View the telephone display before picking up the handset (numbers will display after the second ring).


NOTE: This works for all numbers within the local calling area. If a call is unidentifiable, ****** may appear on the display.

 

Hold

Allows you to place a call on hold and return the handset to the cradle. You may place or receive another call if you wish.

  • With the caller on the line, press HOLD. (You may hang up or, or where available, use another line by pressing the alternate line button.)
  • The indicator light next to the line button will blink when the caller is on HOLD.
  • To return to the caller, press the line button (the line the caller is on).
Last Number Redial

Allows you to redial the last called number by depressing the # key instead of dialing the full number.

  • List handset. Press DN key. DN LCD turns on.
  • Press "##".
Three Way Call/Transfer

Allows you to add a third person to your call.

  • Call the first party.
  • Press TRANSFER or Conf 3. You hear a special dial tone.
  • After you hear dial tone, dial the second party.
  • After the second party answers, press TRANSFER or Conf 3 to connect all 3 parties.

NOTE: To return to original call if called number is busy or does not answer:

  1. Press RLS.
  2. Press DN key next to flashing LCD. DN LCD turns on steadily.
Transfer/Three Way Call
  • With the caller on the line, press TRANSFER or Conf 3.
  • After you hear dial tone, dial the number.
  • After you hear a ring, press TRANSFER or Conf 3 a second time, then press RLS to hang up.
    OR, wait until the party answers, announce the caller, press TRANSFER or Conf 3 a second time, then press RLS to hang up.
    OR, announce you would like to have a conference call, then press TRANSFER or Conf 3 a second time to connect all three parties.

TIP: If the line you are transferring to is busy or the second party asks you not to transfer, you may return to the original caller.

 

Busy Lamps
  • Busy Lamp buttons monitor the status of other lines on-campus.
  • If the light next to a Busy Lamp button is on, the monitored line is busy.
  • Busy Lamp buttons are also preprogrammed memory buttons to the numbers they monitor. (Simply lift the handset and press the corresponding button to dial.)
Call Pickup

Allows you to answer any ringing phone in your call pick up group.

*73

  • Lift the handset and press CALL PICKUP to intercept a call coming in to a line in your Call Pickup Group.
  • Or, lift the handset and dial *73 to intercept a call.

TIP: If more than one line in your group is ringing, you will intercept the one that began to ring first.

Note: This feature must be set up through the OIT HelpDesk.


Intercom

Allows you to call a preselected station.

  • Pick up the handset and press the Intercom button. Ringing tone is heard. The called party answers by pressing the Intercom key, or automatic connection will be made after two seconds if all DN's on the called station are idle.
  • Next, deliver your message.

Note: Intercom is only applicable between two predetermined stations.

 

Ring Again

If you make a call to someone on campus and their extension is busy, Ring Again will notify you when the line becomes free and then will dial automatically for you.

  • After getting busy signal, press Ring Again (LCD turns on).
  • While waiting to be notified that the line is free you may make or receive calls.
  • A distinctive ring lets you know when the line you were calling is free.
  • Repeat Dialing will monitor the line for 30 minutes.
  • A distinctive ring lets you know when the line you were calling is free.

TO CANCEL Ring Again

  • Dial *86.
  • Ring again will cancel automatically after 30 minutes.

NOTE: You must answer your phone within 32 seconds. Ring Again will not work on off-campus calls.


Return Call

*69 to activate
*89 to cancel

  • Lift the handset and listen for dial tone.
  • Press *69. An automated voice will give the number of the last call received if it is not private.
  • To call that number press 1. The call is made automatically. If the number is busy the feature will monitor the line for up to 30 minutes and signal with a distinctive ring when the line is free.

To cancel *69

  • Lift handset and listen for dial tone.
  • Press *89.
  • Return call will deactivate automatically if you do not receive a distinctive ring within 30 minutes.
Speed Call (Program Long, Program Short)

Allows the programming of telephone numbers so they can be dialed automatically by entering a one or two digit code.

   *77 (Speed Call Short Individual)
   *78 (Speed Call Long)

SPEED CALL INDIVIDUAL
Allows you to program up to 10 telephone numbers at your station for speed call.

To Program:

  1. Without lifting the handset, press Spd Call or lift handset and dial *77. Spd Call LCD flashes.
  2. Dial the one digit code (0-9) associated with the number being stored.
  3. Dial the number to be stored and #.
  4. Press Spd Call again. LCD turns off.

NOTE: Only 24 digits may be programmed into each entry. To erase a stored number, repeat the entire procedure but only enter # in step 3.

To Use:

  1. Press any DN.
  2. Press Spd Call or #.
  3. Dial the one digit code associated with the number to be dialed.

SPEED CALL LONG
Allows you to access a list of 30, 50, or 70 telephone numbers which are shared by your sped call group members and programmed at the controller's station.

To Program:

  1. Without lifting the handset, press Spd Call.
  2. Dial the two digit code (00-99) associated with the number being stored.
  3. Dial the number to be stored and #.
  4. If your phone does not have speed call assigned, press any idle DN, then dial *78, the two digit code, the number to be stored and #..

NOTE: To erase a stored number, do steps 1 and 2 then hit #..

To Use:

  1. Press any DN. LCD turns on.
  2. Press Spd Call or *. Spd Call LCD flashes.
  3. Dial the two digit code (00-99) associated with the number you wish to call. You hear ringing..
Call Trace

  • Immediately after receiving a harassing phone call, hang up.
  • Before making or receiving another call lift handset, dial *57, follow recorded instructions.
