Software for Departments

AU Software provides negotiated pricing on software titles such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. These purchases are requested and distributed through your appropriate IT provider as this coordination helps to lower the overall price for Auburn University.

Software is only available for departmental purchase by direct charge unless otherwise noted. An Auburn University departmental account number is required.

BlackBerry Employee Email Synchronization License
This synchronizes BlackBerry wireless devices with the employee email system.

Note: If you already have a BES account and have a replacement device, performed a hard reset, or upgraded the OS, please click to request password information from the BES Administrator.

Blackberry: $69.90 initial license fee; $24.55 (2009-10) yearly renewal fee

Adobe and Macromedia Products
CLP (Contractual Licensing Program) Agreement

If you ordered a license and media, your media will ship directly from GovConnection.

When you order a license for an Adobe product from GovConnection the first time, expect to receive two (2) email messages from Adobe. The first message will be an order confirmation.  The second message will be a welcome message with login information for the Adobe Licensing Website (LWS). You will use this same information for obtaining information on any future orders placed with your email address. Be sure to check your Junk Mail folder, SPAM folder and Deleted Items folder if the messages do not appear in your Inbox.

  • How To Access Your Account
    1. Go to LWS at https://licensing.adobe.com.
    2. Click Create New Password.
    3. Enter the email address you provided with your order. If you received a welcome message, use the email address the message specifies.
    4. Click Continue and follow the instructions to create your password.

      *** If you are unable to reset your password, an Adobe licensing specialist should be able to assist you. The contact information should be provided on their website.
  • How To Obtain Your Serial Number
    1. Go to LWS at https://licensing.adobe.com.
    2. Under Licenses, click Retrieve Serial Numbers.
  • How To Download Your Software
    1. Log in to the LWS at https://licensing.adobe.com.
    2. Choose Licenses > Download Software.
    3. Select an account from the End User/Deploy-To ID list.
    4. To filter the list of products.
    5. In the list of products, click a product name.
    6. Follow the instructions on the download page.

Virus Protection Software

This geographic information system is available for any Windows computer on the Auburn network. Licenses are served through a connection to the license manager at esri.auburn.edu.

Installation media is available from the IT providers in the units that funded the site license: Agriculture, Architecture, Design and Construction, Engineering, Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, Libraries and Sciences and Mathematics.

Prospective users in other units should contact ausoftware@auburn.edu.

ERDAS Imagine
This geospatial imaging software is available for any Windows computer on the Auburn network. Licenses are served through a connection to the license manager at erdas.auburn.edu.

Installation media is available from the IT providers in the units that funded the site license: Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Sciences, Libraries and Sciences and Mathematics.

Prospective users in other units should contact ausoftware@auburn.edu.

Minitab
This statistical software is available for Windows computers. As an anti-piracy measure, each Minitab license is locked onto the Media Access Control (MAC ) address of a single computer.

Please check with your IT provider to see if your unit participates in the funding of this site license.

How to tell if your computer is joined to the domain: right-click on My Computer > Properties > Computer Name. If the computer is joined to the Auburn domain, you will see the following: Domain: auburn.edu If your computer is not joined to the Auburn domain, contact your IT Provider for assistance.

How to tell if you're an administrator on your machine: click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts. Beside your username, you should see the domain Auburn and the group Administrators. If your username is not in the Administrators group, contact your IT Provider for assistance with software installation.
