SANS Securing the Human

Sans: Securing the Human

Information security is critical to the life of the University. Each day more and more cyber threats are committed against institutions of higher education. It's critical for university employees to learn more about these threats.

It is Everyone's Responsibility

If you are an Auburn University employee, you have a responsibility to learn how to secure your data, your computer, yourself, and the university network. All employees (Administrative & Professional, Staff, & Faculty) should complete the "SANS Securing the Human" training. IT support employees on-campus have already completed this training, so if you need assistance you may contact your IT Provider.

How to Get to the Training

  1. Log into AU Access and select the Employee Services tab.

  2. Next, click on the SANS Securing the Human icon. It looks like this:

  3. You will be directed to the library of training videos that contains the required modules. To view each video, select a module and click on the icon. The videos may be viewed in any order.

ATTENTION iOS USERS

The SANS Securing the Humans videos are currently unplayable on iOS 8 devices. The SANS Securing the Humans Team is working on a fix to address this issue as soon as possible.

Completion of Training

Within 24 hours of completing the training, you should receive a message from AUSECURE with your certificate of completion. This training should serve you well to stay out of harm's way; however, as technology continues to evolve, so do the types of cyber threats. Try to be cognizant of emerging dangers and take heed of the notices issued by OIT and the IT professionals in your area.
