The Auburn University network will receive a significant upgrade on Tuesday, May 10th, which will provide greater redundancy and stability. At 10 o'clock that evening all Internet connectivity to and from campus will be severed to install new border routers. This means there will be no email, web, vpn, etc. to or from campus until the work is complete. Although this work may continue until midnight, it is expected to be completed much earlier.
Email being sent from campus will queue and will be delivered as the congestion clears and normal traffic eases out. Email sent to campus will likely do the same but there is very small chance, depending on the vendor, that this email may be lost during delivery attempts.
The main Auburn University website (www.auburn.edu) will be redirected to a "temporarily unavailable" page prior to the outage, beginning at 9:00 p.m. This redirect may be in place as late as 1:00 a.m. the next day. Again, this is just for the Auburn University website (and websites for schools and colleges that also wanted their sites redirected).
Internet Outage: May 10th at 10:00 p.m. until potentially midnight
Website Outage: May 10th at 9:00 p.m. until potentially May 11 at 1:00 a.m.
