Listservs
Mailing lists (also called Listservs) make it easy to send e-mail to multiple recipients while sending the message only to one specific address. This allows all the individuals in your campus group or organization to easily communicate with each other using a centralized list of e-mail addresses.
New mailing lists can be created at the request of a member of the Auburn University community as long as the purpose
To request the creation of a mailing list:
- Visit: Mailing List Request Form
(You will need to login using auburn\username and your password.)
Editing an Existing Mailing List:
- If you already have a mailing list with Mailman, you can configure and manage the list at the following website:
http://listserv2.duc.auburn.edu/mailman/admin/LISTNAME (where LISTNAME is the name of the list) - If you already have a mailing list with Majordomo, you can edit its information via your web browser by accessing the Major Cool list manager at http://listserv.duc.auburn.edu/cgi-bin/majordomo
Remove yourself from a list:
- Mailman Users
- Users can subscribe/unsubscribe themselves at the following web site:
http://listserv2.duc.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/LISTNAME (where LISTNAME is the name of the list)

- Majordomo Users
- To unsubscribe from a list on the majordomo server, send an e-mail to majordomo@auburn.edu with a blank subject line and "unsubscribe listname e-mail@address" (where listname is the name of the list you want to unsubscribe to and e-mail@address is your e-mail address that is receiving e-mails from the list) in the body of the e-mail.
Note: To unsubscribe from a listproc list, you MUST send the unsubscribe command from the e-mail account that receives the mail from the list.
For example, to unsubscribe from the itnews list, send the following command to the address majordomo@auburn.edu
unsubscribe itnews
- To unsubscribe from a list on the majordomo server, send an e-mail to majordomo@auburn.edu with a blank subject line and "unsubscribe listname e-mail@address" (where listname is the name of the list you want to unsubscribe to and e-mail@address is your e-mail address that is receiving e-mails from the list) in the body of the e-mail.
