  • How Do I get VPN Access?

    A person with Auburn University login privileges must complete Affiliate Banner ID/Access Form or a Department Head (or above) needs to send an e-mail to IDM@auburn.edu requesting VPN access.  Request needs to include:

    Individual’s:
       BANNER ID and GID if previously established.
       Name
       Address
       Email address
       Phone number
       Gender
       Date of Birth
    The purpose of the VPN access
    When the VPN access is needed (beginning and end)
    The department sponsoring the access
    Home Org Code
    Vendor Name and ID (if applicable)

    If the person is on campus, they need to come into the IDM and bring a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.).

  • How Do I request an extension for AU Computing Access?

    If the extension is for less than thirty days past the termination date listed in Banner, please contact your Computing Coordinator.

    If the extension is for more than thirty days or if they are thirty days past the termination date, the Department Head needs to send an e-mail to IDM@auburn.edu requesting extension of computing access.

    Request needs to include:

    Individual’s:
       BANNER ID
       GID
       Name
       Email address
       Phone number
    What access the extension should include
    When or how long the extension should last
    The department sponsoring the access
    Home Org Code
    The reason/purpose for the access extension

    In order to expedite this request, if the individual is still on campus, he or she will need to come into the IDM office and bring a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.).

  • What do I need to do in order to get an ID card?

    AFFILIATE

    A person with Auburn University login privileges must complete the Affiliate Banner ID/Access Form or a Department Head (or above) needs to send an e-mail to IDM@auburn.edu requesting VPN access.  Request needs to include:

    Individual’s:
       BANNER ID and GID if previously established.
       Name
       Address
       Email address
       Phone number
       Gender
       Date of Birth
    What access the extension should include
    The purpose of the access
    When the access is needed (beginning and end)
    The department sponsoring the access
    Home Org Code
    Vendor Name and ID (if applicable)

    Within 90 days after the Affiliate Banner ID/Access form has been approved or the appropriate email received, the affiliate will need to come into the IDM office and bring a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.).

    STAFF

    IDM will verify you are in the Banner System.  (This will happen when HR has processed your paperwork.)

    You may email (idm@auburn.edu) or call (334.844.4386) IDM to check your status.

    If you are in the Banner System, bring a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.) into the IDM office and an ID card will be issued.

    NEW FACULTY

    Tenure/ Tenure Track

    Contact the IDM office (334.844.4386) and make an appointment with Janine Slick.  Bring a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.) with you to your appointment.

    Affiliate

    If you are employed by a State or Federal agency, a person with Auburn University login privileges must complete the Affiliate Banner ID/Access Form or the agency Head will need send an e-mail to IDM@auburn.edu requesting an ID card. 

    If you are employed by another organization, then a person with Auburn University login privileges must complete the Affiliate Banner ID/Access Form or the Department Head for the unit you are working with will need to send an e-mail to IDM@auburn.edu requesting an ID card. 

    Both of these requests needs to include:

    Individual’s:
       BANNER ID and GID if previously established.
       Name
       Address
       Email address
       Phone number
       Gender
       Date of Birth
    What access the extension should include
    The purpose of the access
    When the access is needed (beginning and end)
    The department sponsoring the access

    RETIREE

    The day after your last paycheck, bring your old ID card and a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.) into the IDM office and a Retiree ID will be issued.

    STUDENT SPOUSE

    After paying the $80.00 student spouse fee in the Tiger Card office, located on the second floor of the Student Center, bring the receipt and a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. driver’s license, passport, etc.) to the IDM office and an ID will be issued.

  • What do I need to do in order to get AU_WIFI access?

    To request nonrenewable OIT Temporary Accounts, used to allow short term access to only Auburn's wireless network and OIT computing labs for vendors and other persons having official business at Auburn University for a period not to exceed 30 days, please complete the Temporary Account Request Form.

    For Sponsored Accounts, available for individuals who need computing access but are not otherwise eligible as an employee, student, or contracted agent, users must be sponsored by a university department and there must be a direct relationship to the university academic mission or business function. Alumni and/or employee spouse or dependents not directly involved in the university mission are not eligible.  (See OIT Sponsored Accounts)

  • How can I get a Faculty/Staff Football ID card for the football games?

    Send an e-mail to tickets@auburn.edu, attention Stephen Naughton, stating the reason for a need to have a Faculty/Staff Football Card.

    If accepted your name will be added to a list that is sent by email to the Tiger Card office.

    To verify your request has been approved and has been added to the list, call the Tiger Card office (334.844.4507).

    If your name is on the list, you may then go to the Tiger Card office located on the second floor of the Student Center, behind the Haley Center, present your Faculty/Staff ID and pay $5.00 to receive your Faculty/Staff Football ID card.

  • How do I activate or reset my password?

  • What do I need to do when I find two records for the same person in BANNER?

  • How do I get a Faculty role in Banner?

    Tenure/Tenure Track

    GTA

    The Department Head needs to send an e-mail to IDM@auburn.edu requesting a Faculty role for the Graduate Student.  The request must state that the individual has completed 18 graduate semester credit hours or holds an MS degree in the discipline they are teaching and include the Banner ID number for the Student.

  • Do I need to do anything special if I am a foreign national before I get computing access or an ID card?

    You will need to go to the Office of International Programs before you can come to the IDM office.

    You will need to bring all of your documentation in addition to your passport and visa.

  • Where is the New Vendor — New User Registration form?

    If your business receives or expects to receive recurring payments from Auburn University for goods or services, you must register at AU Vendor Center website.

  • How do I update the University systems (People Finder, Email, etc.) with my preferred name?
