I get an error when trying to setup drive mapping in Windows XP
Issue:
I when I trying to setup drive mapping on my on-campus computer, I received an error that read "The network name is either incorrect, or on a network to which you do not have full access".
Solution:
- Right-click My Network Places.
- Select Properties.
- Double-click Local Area Connection.
- Windows XP only: Click Properties button again.
- Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.

- Select the Use the following IP address option and enter the DNS server addresses like you see them below:

- Click the Advanced button.

- Make sure your window looks like the above. If your computer is in a dfferent domain such as "cob", "eng" or "vetmed", it is important that the DNS suffix "duc.auburn.edu" is added.
- Click the WINS tab and make sure that the Primary server is "131.204.2.6" and the Secondary server is "131.204.2.7".
- Click OK three times and click Close to exit the Network and Dial-Up Connections window.
