Clearing the Frequently Used Programs List
Task:
How can I clear the list of programs on the Start Menu that I freguently use?
How to do it:
The most significant difference between the Classic Start menu and the default XP menu is the addition of the "Most Frequently Used" section. This area is located in the middle of the left panel of the start menu. Whenever you open a program through the Start menu, a link to the program is placed in this Frequently Used area for easier access the next time you decide to run the program. This list of programs can be cleared at any time.
Follow these steps:
- Click Start.
- Right-click on any blank space on the Start Menu and select Properties.
- Ensure that "Start Menu" is selected and then click Customize.
- Under the Programs section, Click Clear List. You may also specify how many programs are displayed under the Frequently Used area by specifying a number in the "Number of programs on Start menu:" area.
