Using the Disk Cleanup

Task:

What is an option for freeing space on my hard drive?

How to do it:

The Disk Cleanup collect a list of deleteable files, such as Temporary Internet Files, to quickly free space on your hard drive.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup

  2. The first window of the Disk Cleanup program will analyze your hard drive to create a list files that can be deleted.

  3. From the list generated, check the boxes next to the items that you would like to delete. Highlight a list item for a description by clicking on it once.
    Note: Once you delete these files, they can not be recovered!
  4. Click OK to delete the selected files and to free space on your hard drive.
