How To Connect To AU_WiFi with Windows XP
Before continuing determine which Service Pack you have installed:
- Right-click "My Computer" and select "Properties".
- Look in the "System" area on the "General" tab.
- If you have a Service Pack installed it will be listed there.
- You may continue if you have at least Service Pack 3, which includes the WPA2 update (KB893357).
To configure your Windows XP computer follow these instructions:
- Click Start > Connect To > Show all connections.
- Right-click your wireless network connection and select "View Available Wireless Networks".

- If you are in range of an AU_WiFi access point you will see AU_WiFi listed. Select it and click "Connect".
- Once a balloon pops-up in your taskbar, click "Change the order of preferred networks".

- Click the "Wireless Networks" tab, select AU_WiFi, and click the "Properties" button.
Note: If you do not have a "Wireless Networks" tab, your wireless connections are probably being managed by a third party application. You can attempt to disable this application or contact the Student PC Shop for assistance.

- On the "Association" tab, WPA2 should be selected as the network authentication type and the data encryption type should be set to AES.
Note: If WPA2 is not an option, you do not have the required WPA2 update. Go to Microsoft's Update site (http://update.microsoft.com) and install Service Pack 3 or Download & Install the WPA2 update.
- Click the "Authentication" tab. Select "Protected EAP (PEAP)" from the drop-down list. Make sure the bottom two check boxes are not selected. Then, click the "Properties" button.

- Check "Validate server certificate" and "Connect to these servers:".
Type "wxauth.auburn.edu;wxauth2.auburn.edu" (no spaces).
Check "IPS SERVIDORES" from the Trusted Root Certification Authorities list.
Check "Do not prompt user to authorize new servers or trusted certification authorities."
Select "Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)" from the drop-down list.
Check "Enable Fast Reconnect"
Click the "Configure..." button.

- Make sure that you uncheck "Automatically use my Windows logon..." and click "OK". Continue to click "OK" until all properties windows are closed.

- Right-click your Wireless Network Connection and select "View Available Wireless Networks".

- Select AU_WiFi and click "Connect".
- A balloon should pop-up in your taskbar that says, "Click here to select a certificate or other credentials for connection". Click this balloon.

- You should now see a "Enter Credentials" window. Enter you Auburn User Name (No @auburn.edu) and Password for authentication (Leave Logon Domain blank). Click "OK".

- If you do not already have the Cisco Clean Access Agent installed, when you open a web browser for the first time, you will be prompted to download and install it. Click the "Download Clean Access Agent" button.

- Once the Cisco Clean Access Agent is installed, you should see it begin to automatically log you into the Clean Access system.

- Last, you should see the Cisco Clean Access Agent with the notification "Successfully Logged in to the network."
