Download, Install, & Configure the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client
Task:
Downloading, Installing, & Configuring the Cisco AnyConnect VPN (Virtual Private Network) Client.
How to do it:
- Visit: AU Install
- Scroll down and locate the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client entry and click the link on the right that corresponds to your current operating system:
Linux, Macintosh (PPC or i386), or Windows.

- You will be prompted to Open or Save. Choose Save and select a location
on your computer that is easy for you to get to.

Note: The download may take a few minutes to complete. - Double-click on the downloaded installer.
- Step One: Press the "Next" button.

- Step Two: Read the terms in the License Agreement, Select the radio button that means you accept the agreement, and then press the "Next" button.

- Step Three: Press the "Install" button.

- Step Four: Finally, press the "Finish" button.

- Once the program is installed you will need to configure it. Open the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client application.
Note: Windows users will find it located in the Programs List in a folder called Cisco.
Enter "auvpn.auburn.edu" in the Connect to field and press the "Select" button.

- When the application has connected to auvpn.auburn.edu it will present a couple of group options for you and fields to authenticate to the AU Network.
Most users should select AUSEC, enter your username & password, and press the "Connect" button.
Note: Banner Admin users may select BANNER as the group.

- Lastly, you must accept the Auburn University IT Terms & Use Agreement. Press the "Accept" button to do so.
