The Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique physical identifier attached to the network adapter in a computer.

How to find the MAC Address on a Windows Computer
  1. Click Windows Start, click Run and type CMD and click OK. This will open a black DOS-like window.
  2. At the command prompt ( C:\xxx> ), type IPCONFIG /ALL (be sure include a space before the slash) and press Enter.
  3. Under the Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection section on the Physical Address line, the MAC address appears as a combination of 12
    letters and numbers with a dash after every 2 characters.
    Example: 00-12-AB-34-56-CD.
  4. To copy a MAC address into a reply e-mail:
    • right-click on the address in the window
    • select Mark from the list
    • left-click and drag to highlight the entire address
    • press Enter and the highlight will disappear
    • move to the reply e-mail window
    • position the cursor where you want the address to appear
    • click Edit and select Paste
  5. To close the DOS window, you can either type EXIT at the prompt and press Enter or click the X at top right of the window.

OS 9

  1. From the Apple Menu Control Panels, choose TCP/IP
  2. From TCP/IP , choose connect via Airport (for Wireless) or Built in Ethernet (for Ethernet card)
  3. From the FILE Menu, choose Get Info
  4. A dialog box will pop up.
  5. The MAC address will be listed next to HARDWARE ADDRESS. It will look like 00 50 E4 E6 A3 18

OSX

  1. From the Apple Menu in the upper left choose System Preferences.
  2. Choose the Network Preferences and select Airport (for Wireless) or Built in Ethernet (for Ethernet card) from the Show menu
  3. The MAC address will be listed at the bottom of the TCP/IP tab as the "Airport ID" or "Ethernet Address"
