Create a Guest View (Groups)
A guest view page provides information about your group and gives anyone who has access to the system the chance to learn about the group with the option to join. The following paragraphs explain how to set up and manage your group’s Guest homepage.
Content for the guest view is much like featured content for the group homepage. You can activate a photo and Internet links on your guest view page if you have already created a group photo album and activated featured links. If you have already created a photo album and posted links, use the following steps to create your Guest view:
- While on your Group’s homepage, click Manage Guest View under Content Tools. Notice the page already contains a Group Description. The text for this description was originally provided when you requested the group.
- Click Edit button under Group Photo.
- Click the radio button next to a picture that you want to display on the guest view and then click Set Photo. You will receive a confirmation message. Click OK.
- Click Edit button under Group Links.
- Click the checkboxes next to the links that you want to display on the guest view and then click Set Links. You will receive a confirmation message. Click OK.
- If you want to edit the description seen by guests, click Edit under Group Description.
- Click in the Group Description field and edit the text as you wish. This field supports up to 10,000 characters. Click Update. You will receive a confirmation message. Click OK.
- If you want to provide additional information to guests, find the Group Information Blocks section and click the Add button.
- Click in the Title field and enter a title for the information block. This field supports up to 60 characters.
- Click in the Description field and enter the text for the information block. This field supports up to 25, 000 characters. Click Add. You will receive a confirmation message. Click OK.
