Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art

Located at the entry to central campus, Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art, Auburn University consists of seven changing galleries, an auditorium, a café, a gift shop and landscaped walking paths. A leader among Alabama museums, the American Alliance of Museums professionally accredited Auburn's museum, placing Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art in the same industry league as The Smithsonian, The Getty, and the Met. The university's growing permanent collection includes approximately 2,000 works of art ranging from traditional to contemporary.

Art studios, gallery talks, films and performances are free to the community Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons to the community through member support. Galleries are open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a mixture of traveling exhibitions and permanent collection exhibitions on view. Exhibition admission is free with support from the JCSM Business Partners. The Museum Café is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. The Museum Gift Shop, open during regular museum hours, carries a wide selection of hand crafted and out of the ordinary items.

The museum is located at the intersection of South College Street and Woodfield Drive.

  • From I-85 take Exit 51 and turn north onto College Street. Continue north on College Street for 2.56 miles.
  • Turn right into the entrance of the museum and follow circular drive around to parking lot.
  • A drop-off point is available at the museum entrance. The museum is handicap accessible.
