Steven Leath became Auburn University’s 19th president in June 2017. A proven leader with expertise in teaching, extension, research and economic development, Leath is poised to strengthen Auburn’s impact as a leading land-grant university through three all-encompassing priorities.
The university exists to prepare students for life through meaningful experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. It’s also important that we teach them teambuilding skills, time management, citizenry and social responsibility. We will make the student experience the best it can be and increase the value of an Auburn degree.EMPOWER COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIPS
We want to enable students, faculty, staff, alumni and our partners in business, industry and government to join together to further develop Auburn’s instruction, research, outreach and economic development efforts.INCREASE THE UNIVERSITY’S PROFILE
We’ll work to expand our national and international visibility by strengthening the academic experience, growing our research enterprise and its impact, and serving as an economic engine for the state and nation.
Under Dr. Leath’s leadership, Iowa State University—one of the nation’s top research institutions with an international reputation in science and technology—experienced unprecedented growth and benefited from many accomplishments.
