Dear Prospective Member,
Thank you for your interest in the Lambda Sigma society! We congratulate you for earning at least a 3.0 GPA during your first semester here at Auburn. The Lambda Sigma society is looking for people like you with a commitment to academic excellence. As you will see, scholarship is only one aspect of Lambda Sigma. We are also looking for members who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, a willingness to serve the Auburn community, and a desire to have fellowship with other members of the sophomore class. These represent the four pillars of Lambda Sigma: scholarship, leadership, service and fellowship. If you would like to be considered for this nationally recognized society, then I encourage you to complete the application included with this letter.
The application contains three separate parts: Personal Information, Honors, and Essays. Please follow the directions and fill out every section as completely and precisely as possible.
Only the biographical information, which is the first page, should contain your name. Please note that your GPA must be completed and verified by your Dean. When complete, please bring five sets of the application (each stapled in the right hand corner) to Suite 3130 of the New Student Center no later than
Friday, March 11th at 3:00 pm. No applications will be accepted after this deadline. Callbacks will be posted at the
Friday, March 25th at noon to Suite 3130 of the New Student Center. If you are called back, please sign up for an interview time. The interview sign up list will be located on the desk as well. The deadline to sign up for an interview is
Friday, April 1st at 3 pm.. Interviews will take place from
Monday, April 12th to Tuesday, April 13th in Conference Room A of Student Center Suite 3010. The new Lambda Sigma members will be announced during honors callouts on
April 14th. The new members will have their first meeting shortly after callouts. Dues for all members are $100 and cover the entire year.
