President Bush's Visit to AU

The visit of President George W. Bush to Plainsman Park on the Auburn
University campus Thursday presents an extraordinary opportunity for you
to see and hear our nation's leader.  
* TICKETS: AU students must show valid AU ID at the
Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum ticket windows (main coliseum entrance on
the north side behind the eagle sculpture). Tickets are free. Each
student may receive two tickets. Distribution is 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
Wednesday. If any tickets remain they will be distributed at the
coliseum ticket windows on Thursday.
* CLASSES: Since this is not an official University function, you are
not automatically excused from your classes for the President's visit.
If you are planning to attend the President's visit and you have a class
or classes scheduled at that time, you should discuss your situation
with your faculty members. The decisions on class attendance excuses
rest with your faculty members.
* ARRIVE EARLY AT PLAINSMAN PARK ON THURSDAY: Plainsman Park gates open
at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Students should plan to be at Plainsman Park at
least two hours before President Bush's 4:40 p.m. estimated arrival.
Cameras, backpacks and purses are permitted but will be inspected. The
student general admission ticket area is on the baseball field, standing
room only. Once admitted to Plainsman Park, anyone who leaves Plainsman
Park will not be readmitted.
* PARKING: Wednesday night, the Plainsman Park parking lot and a
portion of the Math Annex parking lot will be closed. At 6 a.m.
Thursday, the parking lot on the east side of Beard-Eaves-Memorial
Coliseum will be closed. Other lots are subject to closings.
* TRAFFIC: At 6 a.m. Thursday, Donahue Drive from Samford Avenue to
Roosevelt Drive will be closed. Other streets are subject to closings.
