Office Administrative Assistant
Sylvia joined the Industrial Design Department staff in the summer 2005 as AU temp employee, then became a full-time assistant in spring of 2006. As an integral member of the administrative team, Sylvia routinely assists in the office organization efforts, manages multiple projects, and processes vendor and travel vouchers for the department. She also aids in organizing and coordinating meetings with industry sponsors.
Prior to her work within the department, Sylvia was a teller supervisor for SouthTrust Bank in Birmingham, Alabama where she supervised a number of employees. She has a background in human resources in Chicago, Illinois, and was a teacher's assistant in Charleston, South Carolina.
