Background:
From 1992 to 2004, Lu worked as an industrial designer, marketing manager, and product development director for toy, game, computer, medical, and adaptive products in both the US and Taiwan. He has led teams in the conceptualization, design, engineering, and commercialization of several products that were introduced into the international market. In the autumn of 2004, Lu joined the Auburn industrial design faculty.

Research interests include industrial design methodologies, product innovation management, and strategic design planning, as well as the integration of biofeedback technologies in design evaluation.
