The Instructional Multimedia Group (IMG) is a University-wide unit dedicated to enhancing education at Auburn University. We are pleased to provide new faculty with the following information and links to help you familiarize yourself with Auburn's IT services and with specific instructional technology help the IMG can offer.
IMG’s mission is to respond to faculty needs in developing and maintaining high levels of teaching effectiveness through the intelligent and relevant use of instructional technology. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 844-5181 or stop by the Faculty Development Center, a computer lab for faculty, in 144 Foy Hall. We are open 7:45 until 4:45 every Monday through Friday.

Instructure's Canvas is Auburn University's Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas allows you to give quizzes or assignments; communicate with students via discussion boards or chat; manage grades; and share documents.
Course Toolkit allows you to check rosters (including picture rolls) and e-mail class sections.
Panopto allows you to record your classroom lectures and automatically upload it to a central location. Once the Panopto Recorder is installed, you can record video, audio, and your computer screen, or just a PowerPoint. The video is then uploaded to the Panopto server where it can be viewed or downloaded.
Respondus is a quiz creation tool that is integrated with Canvas. You may create a quiz and upload it to multiple Canvas courses. Respondus is available for download through AU Install. The Respondus Lockdown Browser adds extra security for online quizzes.
Adobe Connect is an online video conferencing tool available for classes and research.
OIT HelpDesk - The mission of the OIT HelpDesk is to provide Auburn University faculty, staff, and students with an effective primary point of contact for Auburn University's recommended software and computing resources.
E-mail - Auburn University's official means of communication is via e-mail. The two links below will help you set up and manage your e-mail through the two available means-- Exchange or TigerMail:
Accounts - MyAccount allows you to update your AU computing password online, update security questions, activate a new account, and specify an alternate e-mail address for MyAccount notifications.
Passwords at Auburn University are very important as they are your lifeline to all online services. Please do NOT give your password to anyone (even IT personnel).
Student Privacy - The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects student confidentiality by ensuring any contact with student records, especially grades, is secure and private. All Auburn University services follow FERPA’s guidelines in order to protect student identities.
Security - All Auburn employees should use a anti-virus program. Sophos available for free for all Auburn employees and students.
