Caps and gowns may be reserved at the Auburn University Bookstore in Haley Center (334-844-4241). The deadline for making reservations is October 31, 2008 for a discount and November 7, 2008 for regular rental price. The rental fee is payable when the measurements are taken.

If you do not reserve a cap and gown before the deadlines listed above, contact the Auburn University Bookstore in Haley Center to determine whether it may be secured before graduation day as this attire is required for participation in the ceremony.

All graduates are asked to please wear black shoes (no tennis shoes); men are also asked to wear black trousers. The tassel on the mortar board is worn to the right of the mortar board for undergraduate students and is moved to the left when directed by the Master of Ceremony. Please note that from the beginning of the ceremony, Masters and Doctoral candidates wear their tassel to the left of the mortar board.

After commencement, representatives of the Auburn University Bookstore will be located at the Student Activities Center to receive your cap and gown. Caps and gowns are expected to be turned in at the Student Activities Center immediately following the commencement ceremony. Caps and gowns may not be turned in until the ceremony concludes.
