Admission Requirements
Graduate School Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 15 semester credits in 7000/8000 level courses
- A minimum of 21 semester credits in the major area
- A minimum of 24 semester credits taken at Auburn
Degree Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 27 semester hours of graduate course work other
than CIVL 7980
- Three semester hours of Civil Engineering Project (CIVL 7980), culminating
in a final written report approved by the student's advisory committee
- Courses in related fields outside of the department can be taken as
part of the mandatory 27 hours
- The specific plan of study must be approved by the student's advisory
committee
- Must pass an on-campus comprehensive oral examination covering course
work and the project
- No language requirement
- No residency requirement

Equipment Requirements
- Students are required to have either a Personal Computer or Laptop
(Celeron 1.0 GHz minimum/ Pentium 4 1.5 GHz desired). CDROM drive required/DVD
drive suggested
- Students must have access to the Internet (dial up minimum, high
speed suggested)
- Course materials are delivered in DVD-R format, therefore students
must have access to a DVD player\drive on which to view the course
videos.
Other Requirements - The Graduate School allows you 5 years from the time of admittance
to complete your degree program.
