Admission Requirements
Degree Requirements
- The degree requires 32 semester hours.
- There are three core graduate courses in chemical engineering, each
of which is 3 credit hours:
- CHEN 7100 - Transport Phenomena,
- CHEN 7200 - Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics
- CHEN 7250 - Chemical Reaction Engineering.
- Each professional
chemical engineering graduate student can select
electives for the remaining 23 credit hours to create an individualized
plan of study according to the following requirements:
- A minimum of
12 credit hours of electives must be from chemical engineering
courses with the remaining 11 credit hours from
engineering, business, science courses,
or
chemical
engineering courses.
- At least 7 of the 23 credit hours of electives must
be at the
7000 level or above.
Equipment Requirements
- Graduate Outreach students are required to have either a Personal
Computer or Laptop (Celeron 1.0 GHz minimum/ Pentium 4 1.5 GHz desired).
CDROM drive required/DVD drive suggested.
- Students must have access to the Internet (dial up minimum, high
speed suggested).
- Course materials are delivered mainly in VHS videotape format. We
are offering limited distribution of DVDs. Check with the Engineering
Graduate Outreach Office to discover if your course will be available
in DVD format.
Other Requirements
- The Graduate School allows you 5 years from the time of admittance
to complete your degree program.
