GRADUATE CERTIFICATE in TESL/TEFL

Recipients of the Graduate Certificate in TESL/TEFL will be prepared for employment teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL) in U.S. intensive language programs, private schools, adult education programs, government and businesses or teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in schools, universities and businesses around the world. The graduate certificate will also provide additional qualifications for certified K-12 mainstream teachers who teach English language learners.

Completion of this Graduate Certificate in TESL/TEFL program does not lead to a State-approved professional educator certificate. However, individuals who meet admission requirements and are accepted into the Alabama Class A ESOL graduate program may, upon approval of their advisory committee, apply the TESL/TEFL courses to completion of the State-approved ESOL graduate program.
