Busy foreign language professionals can now earn a Specialist degree without interrupting their daily schedule.

  • The Distance Learning Specialist in Foreign Language Education program in Spanish / French is an extension of campus-based offerings. The degree has identical course requirements as the traditional Ed.S. in Foreign Language Education degree program and will be equivalent in credit hours. This program is designed for graduate students who are pursuing degrees in Foreign Language Education. They must have a master’s degree and be certified to teach Spanish / French. The degree program is designed for completion of the specialist’s degree and “AA” certification by the State of Alabama, in Spanish only. Other graduate students in foreign language education (transient or non-degree seeking) may also enroll in the courses.
  • Through Internet-based learning, you can conveniently access your course content. Such flexibility in the program allows teachers to balance educational objectives with work and family commitments.
  • Graduate students enrolled at other universities may also take the courses.
  • The Distance Education Specialist meets the same guidelines for quality as do all Auburn University programs and is fully accredited by ACHE, NCATE and the Alabama State Department of Education.
