Delivery Systems
Course Lectures
- Lectures are taped and simultaneously webcast (streamed)
and archived on the course website so that students can go
back and watch them at any time. Most lectures are also available as
audio and/or video podcasts.
Course Materials
- Students can download Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files that
contain journal articles, forms and anything that might be a paper
handout for a traditional class.
- Course content can be distributed as e-mail attachments.
- Class pages also have direct links to HTML (or web-page)
versions of syllabi, handouts, and PowerPoint notes.
Communications
- In order to let students discuss class information both formally
and informally, we use:
- Bulletin boards - Web pages that contain
archived conversations in text format.
- Instant messaging - A live (or synchronous)
version of textual conversation over the internet.
- Email - Messaging that takes place
privately between two or more participants.
Examinations
- Electronic self-tests, quizzes and proctored exams
are given to assess the student's progress.
