Requirements

Admission Requirements

  • Admission to University Graduate School, seeking admission as non-degree seeking
  • Three letters of recommendation and a completed departmental application sent directly to:

    Dr. Caroline Dunn, Graduate Program Officer
    Rehabilitation and Special Education
    1228 Haley Center
    Auburn University, AL 36849.

  • All participants entering to the program MUST have Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a closely related field and be certified as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) prior to entering program.

Certificate Requirements

  • This advanced Certificate of Leadership and Management in Rehabilitation requires 24 semester hours, taken over a period of 16 months
  • Essential feature of each course will require attendance at on campus institutes. Participants will be required to visit Auburn University's campus or a neutral convenient site for required Institutes.

Other Requirements

  • Near the completion of all course work and corresponding institutes, participants are required to submit a leadership/managerial residency proposal, approved by agency or facility management, which proposes the resolution of an issue or presents a strategic plan of action developed under the participant’s auspices that demonstrates leadership, team building, conflict resolution, futures planning, accountability of human and/or material resources within the context of effectiveness and efficiency. A final report that clearly sets forth the problem or issue to be confronted, a review of existent literature (which serves to place appropriate weight and substance to the problem), a leadership/management strategy for resolution, costs (in terms of human and material costs), is the final requirement for the Rehabilitation Leadership and Managerial Program.
