Admissions Requirements

The general admissions requirements for this program are set by the Auburn University Graduate School.

An applicant to the MMIS Program must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) is required for admission to the program. Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores.

Admission will be based on the following factors:

  • Grade point average (GPA) in university-level courses, GMAT scores, and recommendations; for international students, GMAT scores, TOEFL score, if applicable, a four year undergraduate degree, and recommendations.
  • The average GMAT score for entering Distance MBA students in 2002 was 608, with a range from 530 to 710; their average GPA was 3.2, with a range from 2.8 to 4.0.
  • We recommend at least two years of work experience prior to starting the MMIS Distance program. You may transfer up to 12 semester hours; however, they may only be used for elective credit. You must take all of our core classes. The Graduate School determines which credits are transferable.
