Requirements
Enrollment Requirements
- Extended Option
This option is wherein the student (AU or non-AU) may enroll at any time
and take up to nine months to complete the course (on selected courses only. Call to verify whether the course you are interested in is offered under the nine month option). Successful completion
generates degree-applicable college credit, but the grade earned in the Independent
Learning course under the extended option does not affect an Auburn student's
GPA (Grade Point Average)
Time Considerations
- The minimum time which must elapse between submitting the first assignment
and completing a course is 30 days. No exceptions to this policy are
permitted for any reason. It is recommended, except under rare circumstances,
that you not attempt to complete a course in less than 90 days. We suggest that
you pace your assignments, especially early in your course, so that
you can receive instructor's comments before you mail in subsequent
assignments, thereby profiting by the feedback on your efforts.
- Unless sent by fax or E-mail, a minimum of two weeks is usually needed
for an assignment to be received by the instructor, graded, recorded
and placed in the return mail. If you are meeting a deadline, let
your instructor know at the outset of the course and pace yourself
to complete the final examination well in advance of your deadline.
Withdrawal and Refunds
- A student may withdraw within the first 30 days of enrollment upon
written notification to the Distance Learning Office. No grade will
be recorded. A student following this procedure will receive a refund
of course tuition, but not of the registration fee.
- No refunds of tuition or registration fees will be made after 30
days from the original registration date.
- If a withdrawing student has submitted work, there will be a $10
charge per submitted assignment.
