Pop-Up Windows

As you browse through various links on this site, you may notice that some pages are appearing in new windows on your screen.

Because there is an enormous wealth of information contained throughout the Auburn University website, it is necessary for us to bring up these new windows in order to allow you to browse this information freely without actually leaving the AU Online website. When used properly, this method allows you to find your way back to AU Online easily by closing the overlayed window. See the tips below:

Tips:

1. A good thing to remember is that when you are finished perusing the materials within a pop-up window and wish to return to AU Online, close the window out completely (see tips 3 & 4) so that you won't end up with lots of different screens full of information after a while.
2. Also, if you are a Microsoft Windows user, you can tell how many windows you have opened, as well as which Window you are currently viewing by glancing at the "Task Bar" which is normally located at the bottom of your screen. Mac users can view this info by using the "Window" menu in Internet Explorer.
3. To close a window out, Microsoft Windows users can click the "X" in the top right hand corner of the window, or hit the ALT-F4 key combination.
4. Mac users would hit the square (or "X" in OS X) on the top left hand side of the window or use the Apple-W key combination.

Auburn University Website Domains

A website domain is a specific area of a website that has a different name in its web address.
